MAN_A TRIPARTITE BEING_ SPIRIT, SOUL AND BODY!!_ 7

.

                       THE HOME OF THE SPIRIT-BEING

The Soul being, like the spirit-being,  inhabit the body, it’s home in this world.  The body, its home, does nothing without first being instructed by the soul or the spirit, e.g.  we live in a house but that house does nothing of itself unless we, the occupants,  do what needs to be done. This is so because the houses we make our homes cannot clean themselves, cook, wash, shop  or do anything of their own.  The same applies to our physical bodily houses of flesh, blood and bones, etc. They, too, are our houses and whatsoever needs to be done, must be done by the occupants. Thus we occupy our bodily homes and what is done in them  is mainly up to the soul-being.

It is important to note that just as our ordinary homes reflect who lives in them, how they are  cared for and what goes in them, so also do our bodily  homes reflect who lives in them.   The soul, which is the real you and me,  is an  important part of our being.  We cannot ignore it or do as we please while we are in this our physical bodies, “this tabernacle” as Peter describes it in 2 Peter 1:13,14:

The soul-being is the part of us which makes most of the  decisions and informs the body to carry them out, whether those decisions are good or bad. It is the part of us which is often at war with our spirit-beings and our bodies.  It is also the part of our being which causes us to sin.  That is the reason the Scriptures say:
“The soul that sinneth,  it shall die.” Ezekiel 18: 20.

In other words  the soul causes us to sin and sin leads to the death of the mortal body. The   soul  is the part of our being  which will take the greater responsibility for things done in the body (after we die and also in the final judgment) and upon it mainly  depends whether we are lost or saved.  Concerning this,  Yahushua says in Matthew 10:28:

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell”.

In the above Scripture text, Yahushua pointed out that people can kill the body but they cannot kill the soul.  The soul, like the spirit,  does not die.  While we are still in our physical bodies,  a  constant battle  is being waged between the spirit, the soul and the body.  This is because we were born in sin.

Satan knows the importance of the soul  and battles constantly to have dominion  over it.  He knows that once he is in control of the soul-being  along with the spirit being, he has the entire being of spirit, soul and body.  The battle for our souls never ceases as long as we are alive in this world and inhabit our mortal bodies.  Paul was experiencing a similar conflict and in his despair,  he wrote:

“For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.  If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of [Yahweh] God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?”.   Romans 7: 15-25.

Satan is constantly battling for the souls of the human race; therefore,  Yahushua admonishes us in  Matthew 16: 26:

“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”

It  is through the spirit-being  that access is gained to our souls.  Thus it is through the spirit-being that the Ruach Ha Kodesh, the Holy Spirit,  enters the soul.  Likewise,  it is through the spirit that Satan also gains access to the soul.  The soul is subject to the spirit in man, which accounts for the battle that wages at times  between the spirit-being and the soul-being.   The soul wants to do one thing and the spirit another.  The natural tendency of the soul is to be carnal and to do the things which are opposite or contrary to the  will of Yahweh. On the other hand the spirit that is under the control of the Ruach Ha Kodesh will be in opposition to the carnal nature.

As children of Yahweh we can be assured of victory through the Ruach Ha Kodesh, instead of defeat.  Due to this battle, there are times when the “born again” children of Yahushua succumb to sin.  However, we haven’t   got to remain down and sink deeper into sin and despair.  Yahushua has provided us with a solution and gives us this comforting assurance in 1 John 2:1:

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, [Yahushua Ha Mashiach] Yahushua Christ the righteous”.

MINISTERING IN JAMAICA, THE LAND OF MY BIRTH!! 2012

In May, 2011, while I was ministering in India, I was thinking of returning to Pakistan where I had ministered in 2009.  As I thought about it, I heard the voice of the Ruach Ha Kodesh.  He said: “No, you don’t, you will return to the land of your birth and minister there”.  I had heard His undisputable voice and so there was no question about it.   I had to obey Him.    I had spoken often in the past about returning to Jamaica to minister there  but when that time would be, was from my mind.  However, now that the Ruach Ha Kodesh had spoken, upon my return to the UK, I began to make plans for the visit to Jamaica, that beautiful island in the sun.

In early March, 2012, I took my flight to Jamaica and landed at the Airport in Montego Bay.  The view from the aircraft, though it was late evening, was a lovely one and there was no mistaking where I was. It was  beautiful Jamaica, the land of my birth.

My cousin Merle and her dear husband came to meet me at the Airport.  It was already dark when we left the Airport to drive the long distance on some of the very winding roads and hair -pin bends (a great blessing he knows the roads very well) back to Hazard in St Mary.  That  district is  adjacent to the district  of Montreal,  where I was born and brought up.  I stayed with  my aunt Flo and  some members of her family in the home that was built by my late grandmother, Gertrude.

My aunt Flo is three months older than myself.  She was the last child of my late grandmother and I was her  first grandchild.  Flo and I grew together in the same home when we were babies.  I shared her  milk when my mother left me with my grand mother and went away to work!!  My last visit to Jamaica  was thirteen years ago  so it  was a wonderful reunion.

I saw the areas where I had spent my childhood differently, as well as  the  times when I visited the island.  I saw the beauty of those areas as I had never  ever seen them before.  I noticed the beautiful hills and valleys carpeted with shrubs and  lovely trees, the  lush greenery interspersed mainly with beautiful red flowers; the sugar canes waving in the breeze; the fruit trees, especially the banana trees laden with bunches of green bananas; the quiet, clear  flowing rivers in places, the lovely sunsets and rain bows  after the showers of rain. There was so much beauty as I went from place to place  that made me appreciate the beauty of my island home more than I have ever done before. I am really thankful that I had the privilege to back there.

My aunt Flo and her daughter Merle, took time from their busy programs  to plan and arrange visits for me and also to accompany me. Merle’s husband took time from his busy schedule to   drive me to different places so that I could minister.

In the district  of Montreal, I met many of my younger relatives.  I also  met some of those with whom I went to school.  Most of the older people had passed to their rest. The face of the district has changed so much from when I was growing up there. It is now more like a town with many beautiful homes (that goes for most of the island) and enjoys the many benefits of Electricity including televisions, fridges and freezers.

There in Montreal I was very pleased to see that there is now an established church, the Four Square Baptist Church.  That church,  interestingly enough  is next to the home where I grew up and where I had my first vision of Yahushua when I was about seven or eight years old.  I worshiped in that church on my First Sunday there.  The worship was very vibrant as the worshipers (a goodly number of them)  sang and danced to the glory of our Elohim. The minister gave a timely message and when he made the altar call, many went forward and made their decision to accept Yahushua so their Saviour and Lord.

I  held four open air meetings.   Two were held in Hazard, one was held in Montreal, my home village and one in Carron Hall, the adjoining district, where I went to school as a child.  In those meetings I pointed out the love of Yahushua for His children, the nearness of His coming, the importance of committing the life and making Him the Lord and Saviour of their lives; the importance emulating the life of Yahushua; the importance of  forgiveness and being ready  for the coming of Yahushua. At each meeting I also prayed for the needs of the people, including prayer for their healing.

I worshiped in three other churches, including the church  where  I first worshiped  when I received Yahushua as my Saviour.   In one of those churches I was asked to pray for the people including those who were ill. In another,  the pastor came to me after the discussion of the Sabbath  School Lesson and aired his concern that I had not  contributed to the discussion  in the class. I told him that whenever  I go to any church, unless I am invited to minister or to speak, that  I normally keep quiet.  He asked if I would speak to the congregation for a while.  I told him that I had not come prepared to  do so but if he wanted me to,  the Ruach Ha Kodesh would speak through me to them. The Ruach Ha Kodesh spoke through me and gave me words of encouragement  for them. At the end of the Service I prayed for the pastor and his wife and for others who needed prayer.

I was privileged to visit my old school at Carron Hall where I was given an opportunity to take worship at the Primary School.

I used the opportunity to tell them a little about the Names of our Elohim  (as they were taught to me by the Ruach Ha Kodesh),  and  about the love of Yahushua for all His children.  I also told them a little about Ghana where I served with my husband as missionaries and also a little about India and Pakistan where I ministered. I encouraged them to be respectful  to their teachers and their elders and to learn the things they were being taught. Following the worship, I anointed and prayed for the teachers. Once the children returned to their classes, I went and anointed  and prayed for them individually.  I also prayed for the success of those who were sitting examinations to be admitted to the High School next Academic Year.

I was also given the opportunity to take worship at the Infant School and minister to the children.  I remember that Infant School so well because as a little child, each day I would turn up there with the older children and had the disappointment of being sent home because  I was not yet old enough to begin school.  Eventually I was admitted in the school which was the beginning of  my education. It was wonderful to see those very bright eyed children, full  of life and eager to learn.

The Infant and Primary Schools are nearby and are nicely laid out and equipped to meet the educational needs of the children who are taught by caring and patient teachers..

I was also privileged to minister in the large Presbyterian Church to the students from the Carron Hall High School, which is near to the Primary School. My time however, with them   was limited because the church was opened very late.  However, I spoke to them   for a short time before I  prayed for the teachers and the students.

The Headmistress of the High School, told me that I could return another day and minister but I told her it was not possible because  I would be returning to the UK within a few days.

Early one morning  I went to the Health Clinic in the town of Highgate, where I prayed for those who needed prayer. This was done before the Clinic began.

I was also privileged to go to Port Maria Bay Hospital where I was given permission to go on the ward and pray  for many sick patients.  I also visited  the Infirmary in Port Maria  and prayed for those who needed prayer.  The Infirmary houses the very poor, mostly the  elderly, who have no relatives.  There they are cared for until their deaths.

My aunt Flo or her daughter Merle, took me to many homes in Hazard and some of the  surrounding districts to visit and pray for many of those who were in firmed and shut-ins.

On the last Sunday of my stay,  we went to  Spanish Town.  To and from there I passed through the acres and acres of orange groves and the sugar plantations in and around Bog Walk. I also passed over the famous Flat Bridge that is over the Rio Cobre River.  That bridge is said to be over 300 years old and over the many since then, many lives have been lost on that bridge, including those who died this year. In Spanish Town I met relatives, some of  whom I prayed for as they were suffering from various illnesses.

One of things I could not help noticing  in the area where I was brought up and went to school, were the many graves and  sepulchres.  Among the names  of some of those buried in the Presbyterian Church grounds, were the names of some of those whom I knew when  I was growing up.

I spent some happy times enjoying the sweet juice of the sugar cane, which was something I enjoyed as a child. However, all too soon the three weeks I went for had flown by and once again it was time to be on my flight back to the UK.

Indeed I give thanks to my Elohim for the privilege He gave me to  return to the beautiful island of Jamaica and to some of the areas which I knew,   to minister to as many as I could.  That was the prayer and desire of my late mother for herself but which she was unable to fulfil. I am thankful that I was able to answer that prayer for her and also for myself. I thank our Elohim also  for the love and  care that was shown to me by my relatives and for their help in arranging  the visits  for me to minister  and for taking me  to the various places, as well as to and from Montego Bay Airport.  My prayer is that our Elohim will richly bless and reward them for what they did to make my visit there an enjoyable and  successful one.

MAN_A TRIPARTITE BEING_ SPIRIT, SOUL AND BODY!!_6

      CONVERSION OF THE HUMAN SOUL.

The soul, like the spirit, is part of our tripartite being. As described in the  Advanced Oxford Dictionary  page 823, it is  the:
“Non-material part of a person, believed to exist for ever. . . ”

In Virtue’s English Dictionary on page 821, it  is described as:

“The spiritual and immortal part in man; the immaterial spirit which inhabits the body; the moral and emotional part of man’s nature; the seat of the sentiments or feelings; the animating or essential part; the vital principle”.

And  in the Encyclopedia Britannica, Micropaedia Vol. 9,  page 363,  it  is described as:

“An immaterial principle or aspect that, with the body, constitutes the human person… The human soul has been thought by some to be both the spring  and core of bodily life and the functions and also the seat of the highest mental activities.”

From these references we see what the scholars have to say about the  soul of man and how it is regarded. We see that it plays a very dominant role in our lives as the Encyclopedia Britannica page 363 puts it:

“… with the body [the soul] constitutes the human person.”

The word “soul” is commonly used and numerous references are often made of it. Examples are:

A mean and selfish person may be referred to as being “without a soul”, while a kind, loving and caring person, will be referred to as a “good soul”, a “kind soul”. It may also be used in numbering actual people as we read in Genesis 46:26:
“All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob's sons' wives, all the souls were threescore and six”.

In the  holy Scriptures there are  further examples of the soul, such as:
“And [Yahweh Elohim] the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul”. Genesis 2:7.
“Behold, all souls are mine. . .”. Ezekiel 18:4.

Concerning the soul-being,  we also read in Psalm 34:22:
“[ADONAI] The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants”:
N.B. It is NOT our bodies which are redeemed by the blood of Yahushua; it is our soul-being.

The soul consists of our wills, our minds, our intellect and our emotions.  It is the part of our being which is  the  seat of our  sentiments and  feelings.  It is the  part of us  which makes much of the decisions for what is done in the body. It is also the part of our tripartite being which is accountable to Yahweh for much of the  things done in the  body in this life and for the decisions made, whether good or bad.

For those who are lost, along with the spirit-being, it will be responsible  before Yahushua in the judgment for the things done in the body. Due to  the responsibilities and the sensitive nature of the soul, it can be looked upon as the  real you and the real me.

Our daily thoughts and actions which affect our physical being are dictated and controlled by the soul.  That is the reason so many give in to the carnal nature.  For this reason it is important that our souls are converted to Yahushua and brought under the control of the Ruach Ha Kodesh.  Whereas our spirit-beings are “born again”, our soul-being MUST be CONVERTED. Concerning this we read  in  Psalm 19: 7:
“The law of [Adonai] the Lord is perfect, converting the soul”.

Yahushua also tells us in Matthew 18:3:
“ …Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven”.

Peter, on whom Yahushua’s mantle had fallen, after the healing of the man who  was crippled from birth, preached to the onlookers who were filled with wonder and amazement at the miraculous healing.  He admonished them:

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; and he shall send [Yahushua Ha Mashiach] Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you”. Acts 3:19, 20.

Repentance and conversion of the soul-being, go hand in hand.  Therefore, It is imperative that the spirit being is “born again” through the Ruach Ha Kodesh.  Only then will there be true sorrow for sin which will lead to repentance and the conversion of the soul-being.  This will automatically lead to a changed life  which  will be seen in the life of the “born again” and “converted” child of Yahushua.

Once “re-birth” of the spirit and the “conversion” of the soul are accomplished in a person,  the change for the better is seen. That change will be seen in the life immediately. An example of this is:

A man whose life was one of sin, including drunkenness; cursing, swearing, immorality as well as abusing his wife and children, will no longer be his way of life.  Instead, there will be a  full turn around of his life to one of holiness,   patterned after the life of our blessed Saviour, Yahushua.   This change comes about because he has become a “new creature” in Yahushua, as we are told in  2 Corinthians 5:17:

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”.

In the life of the true child of Yahushua, these changes occur because the works of the flesh are no longer in control of the soul.  These works of the flesh are:

“Sexual immorality, impure thoughts, eagerness for lustful pleasure, 20idolatry, participation in demonic activities, hostility, quarrelling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, divisions, the feeling that everyone is wrong except those in your own little group, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other kinds of sin. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of [Yahweh] God”. Galatians 5: 19-21.

Instead, the  “fruit” of the Spirit will be evident in the life of  the “born-again, “converted” child of Yahweh.  Concerning the “fruit” of the Spirit, we read in Galatians 5: 22, 23:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 meekness, temperance: against such there is no law”.

Paul further wrote in Galatians 5: 24,25:

“And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit”.

There is the danger that we can attend church each week, pay our tithes faithfully and be active members in the church and yet, we are not converted.

That was the case with the apostle Peter, although he was one of Yahushua’s close disciples, who had been with Him for three and a half years.  Yahushua knew this and told Simon Peter:

“… Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 but I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren”.  Luke 22: 31,32.

Regardless of the work we do for our Elohim, our faithfulness in church attendance and in tithing, if our spirit-beings are not “born again” and our soul-beings are not “converted”, the fruit we produce will be seen in our lives as Yahushua tells us in Matthew 7:20:

“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them”.

We must remember that in our natural state, the spirit is under the control of Satan and the soul is carnal.  That is the reason Yahushua says in John 8: 44:

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it”.

We must understand that in our own strengths it is difficult to produce the fruit of the spirit which the Ruach Ha Kodesh gives. Therefore, as our Elohim here upon earth, we are to daily seek His help and commit our lives to him each day, so that He can be in control of our lives.

Once The Ruach Ha Kodesh is in control of our lives, He will lead us, guide us, teach us and help us along life’s journey. It is only as we allow the Ruach Ha Kodesh free access in our lives  that we will be safe in the arms of our Saviour, Yahushua, and will follow in His steps.  This is important  because whatever we are in life and whatsoever is done in our bodies, are largely dictated by our spirit–being and our  soul-being.  Therefore, we need to give full access to the Ruach Ha Kodesh that He can be in sole charge of our lives. For this reason Paul, the apostle, admonishes us:

“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye
do, do all to the glory of God” . 1 Corinthians 10:31.

MAN_A TRIPARTITE BEING_ SPIRIT, SOUL AND BODY!!_5

THE MAN, OR THE PERSON!!

Man is made of an independent  spirit, an independent  soul and a body. These three components, the spirit, the soul and the body make the complete beings of man, which makes us  tripartite beings.

The spirit-being and the soul-being, which Elohim sent from Heaven when we were conceived, are almost inseparable and are housed in our bodies while we are alive in this world.

They are not material elements which can be seen and felt like we can see and feel our  physical bodies. Our  spirits and our souls are the  real you and me. They  are in control of our physical being and make us the real persons we are in life.  However, without  a living body in which to operate, they have no legal rights in this world.

THE SPIRIT BEING OF MAN!!
In the last Post we looked at what is written in the  Cruden’s Complete Concordance about the spirit-being  of man. On Page 626, it says:

“[2] For the renewed nature, or the spiritual part in man. Matthew 26:41.”

In that Text,  Matthew 26: 41,  it says:
“The spirit indeed is willing but the flesh is weak.”

“[3] Signifies the soul which continues in being after the death of the body”. Acts 7:59, 60.

Here in Acts Stephen’s his last words before he died are recorded:

“[Adonai] Lord receive my spirit. . . And when he had said this, he fell asleep”. Acts 7:59, 60.

 THE SPIRIT-BEING!!

The spirit-being, like the soul-being,  is  the immaterial part of our beings which cannot be seen with the physical eyes, yet it is  very real.  It has feelings,  emotions, thinks, makes decisions and gives  instructions to the body to carry out those instructions.

The spirit part of us plays a very important role in our lives.  In our natural state, we do not truly know ourselves or the real us.  Our spirits, however, know us very well.  Concerning this we are told in 1 Corinthians 2:11:

“For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?”

In 1 Corinthians 14: 14,15,  Paul further tells more about the spirit-being  for those who pray in the spirit. He says:

“For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. 1 Corinthians 14: 14,15.

Our spirits, like our  souls, are real and for those who will be in the final Judgment, both will  have to give accounts to Yahushua, our Saviour, for what was done in the bodies which were their homes in this world. They will have to give the reasons they are in that judgment because He came to this world and gave His life for the souls (spirit and soul) of everyone on the Planet  to save them from eternal torment in Hell when they die and from the lake of fire and brimstone in that final judgment.

Paul knew the importance of  this immaterial part of the being and how it should be ordered. He wrote:

“And the very [Elohim] God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray [Yahweh] God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our [Adonai Yahushua Ha Mashiach] Lord Jesus Christ”. 1 Thessalonians 5:23.

This was the prayer of Paul, the apostle, for all who would accept Yahushua as their Saviour.  It should also be our daily prayer because we sin in words, in thoughts and in deeds.

Therefore, it is important that we accept Yahushua as our personal Saviour so that our entire being of spirit, soul and body, can be under the control of the Ruach Ha Kodesh, the Third Member in the Trinity.

Once we have accepted Yahushua as our Saviour, He  baptises us  with the Ruach Ha Kodesh (Matthew 3:11; Acts 1: 5,8).

From the moment we are baptised with the Ruach Ha Kodesh  and “fire”, He begins to communicate with us, teaches us, guides us,  blesses us and gives us His “fruit” and “gifts”.

As our Elohim here upon earth, the Ruach Ha Kodesh  helps us to do good, instead of evil and to love our Elohim and our fellowmen (1 Corinthians 12: 1, 3-11; Galatians 5: 22,23; John 14: 16,17, 26).

If these virtues are lacking in our lives, then our lives will tell because we are told in Matthew 7: 20:

“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them”.

It is important that as followers  of Yahushua Ha Mashiach our entire beings are under the control of the Ruach Ha Kodesh, otherwise  Satan automatically and forcefully takes over. He does not wait to be invited or given permission to come into our lives. He forcefully does so This is the reason Yahushua speaking to the Jews of His day who opposed Him, told them in John 8: 44:

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it”.

Satan loves no one. He has one aim and that is to destroy everyone whom he can get hold of and control. Once he is in control of  the spirit,  he is in control of the entire being and works his hardest to remain in full control so that he can destroy them.

Satan is the great Deceiver and once he is able to keep people deceived and blinded, he knows  they are unable to come to Yahushua, their Saviour. Once he does, he knows he is successful in keeping them out of  the kingdom of glory and  from having eternal life with Yahushua. Yahushua knew this very well that is the reason He warns  us in Matthew 12: 43-45:

“When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first”.

Demon spirits do not have bodies, that is the reason they inhabit the bodies of humans and other creatures.  Our only defense against them is through Yahushua our Saviour and the Ruach Ha Kodesh.

THE SPIRIT MUST BE BORN AGAIN!!

Our  spirit  i.e. our spirit being,  plays a very vital role in our lives and is the part of our being  which knows us very well, as we are told 1 Corinthians 2:11:

“For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?”

And again in Proverbs 20:27:

“The spirit of man is the candle of [Yahweh] the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly”.

The Cruden’s Complete Concordance, Page 626 describes the spirit-being as the “renewed nature, or the spiritual part in man”.

It is this part of our being which brings us close to our Elohim and worships Him.   It is the part of our being  which MUST be  “born again”, as Yahushua  told Nicodemus in John 3: 5, 6:

“…Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; AND THAT WHICH IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT IS SPIRIT. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again”.

Therefore, for us to be new creatures in Yahushua and be His children, OUR SPIRIT-BEINGS MUST BE “BORN AGAIN”. This re-birth is from Heaven and is only done  through the power of the Ruach Ha Kodesh,  the true Spirit of Yahweh.  Concerning this we read in John 3:6:

“that which is born of the Spirit is spirit”. John 3: 7.

Once our spirits are “born again” and our souls are “converted”, then our Elohim: Yahweh our Father, Yahushua our Saviour and the Ruach Ha Kodesh, comes into our hearts and lives with us (John 14: 23).

It is imperative that OUR SPIRIT-BEINGS  are “BORN AGAIN” by the power of the Ruach Ha Kodesh and  that we are NOT JUST church goers.  We must understand that we can be going to church faithfully each week, paying our tithes and doing good to our fellowmen, and yet we are NOT “born again”.

Nicodemus was one of the rulers of the synagogue and yet he was not “born again”, neither did he know about the new birth, nor its importance.  Therefore, when he went to Yahushua to assure Him that He was sent from Yahweh, having seen the miracles He did, we are read in John 3: 3-8, what Yahushua  told him:

“Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of [Elohim] God.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.”  John 3: 3-8.

Our spirit-beings also must be “born again” and born from above by the power of Ruach Ha Kodesh.  We are also told John 3: 5, that we must also be “born of the water”.

This is a command of Yahushua and water baptism should be a natural sequence after the re-birth of the spirit-being.  Re-birth and baptism of the spirit-being are imperative for our salvation.

Yahushua was sinless and yet He presented Himself for baptism before He began His earthly ministry. Concerning water baptism, He told John the Baptist:

“… for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness”. Matthew 3:15.

In Mark 16: 15, 16, Yahushua gave the command:

“Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned”.

Therefore, it is important that each one of us pray to our Heavenly Father in the name of Yahushua for the re-birth of our spirit-beings to take place and that the followers of Yahushua follow His example and be baptised by immersion.

Once this re-birth takes place in our lives, with the help of the Ruach Ha Kodesh, we should endeavour to pattern our lives after the life of Yahushua, our perfect example,  while He was upon this earth.  Patterning our lives after His life is necessary in order for us to have a close and personal relationship with Him on a daily basis.

It is through our  spirit-being that we are drawn to our Elohim and have communion and fellowship with Him, along with prayer, praise and the studying of His Word in the Scriptures.  This is one of the reasons we are given the admonition in Hebrews 10: 25:

“. . . not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching”.

We are also told in Ephesians 5:19:

“Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord”.

Likewise, we are told in Colossians 3:16:

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord”.

As we follow these admonitions, we will have a close relationship with our Elohim and will feed our spirit-being.  We will also be rehearsing for the time when we will be worshiping our Elohim in Heaven and the earth made new.
